If I may quote from Fiddler on the Roof...
My great grandfather Robinson was born in a shtetl in Lithuania. He was sent to the US along with a maternal side 1st cousin when they were 14 in 1886. The Tsars army was pressing teens into the army. They were sent to join his mother's brother in Boston, MA. Uncle Anglicized his name from Liudas Rabinowitz to Louis Robinson. His cousin Elijah Glatzman became Eli Glassman.

I think you need to write a book. You've got more stories to tell than most people I know.

That's normal for working with Government, isn't it?
Funny you mention that. Before I retired, my last supervisor was bipolar and was schizophrenic. Upper level management loved her anyhow. I hope it wasn't just because of her race as it was with the Upper Management. Federal Government always claims they don't discriminate. But, when I was working, I saw it all the time. But, having a supervisor with not one but two pyschological illnesses is a bit too much. And then for them to ignore it is insane. -"pardon the pun".

Sounds right, they promote people that are unable to actually do the work. Have to free up a spot for someone that is useful.

That's why we buy more of something we already own, we can't find it. I bet I own more than 10 pair of scissors .... if I could find them all.
I used to think my house was plagued by Gnomes. If I bought a small pocket flashlight, two days later it would be gone. I finally bought six and put one in every drawer in the kitchen. I know where three of them are now.
