i received a ticket on PAX River back in October 2012. will this reflect back upon my MD driving record through the MVA? thus raising my car insurance?

Yes, it will. Your best best is to go to the military traffic court for the citation and hope to get PBJ.

I thought no? I do rem as active duty on base the tickets were only sent to your commander and we were assessed points. After so many points in a year and you lost your driving privileges.

How to Fight Traffic Violations on Military Bases | eHow.com

There are two kinds of traffic tickets you can get on a military base. One is a United States District Court Violation (DD 1805) and the other is an Armed Forces Traffic Ticket (DD 1408). The DD 1805 is a regular district court ticket like you would get anywhere else. It is issued by the military police but is enforced by the local government, and it can be given to anyone driving a non-government vehicle on a military base. A DD 1408 is given to those driving a military vehicle, or in some cases where the driver of a non-military vehicle is on active duty, a dependent of someone on active duty, a government contractor, or a government-employed civilian.

I assumed you were in a non-government vehicle, which in that case the ticket would show up on your driving record.

In My Opinion
cant be too worried about it in the first place or you would not have been speeding.

I just called the base police.
It is the same ticket that you would get outside the gate.
And points on base go against your state license.

Jazz is right as always.

:diva: I know firsthand, even though it's been many years ago now and one of the very few speeding tickets I ever got. I thought it was bogus, went to court, the rep said they had a 99% conviction rate so I didn't fight it, went in front of the chief of police, and got a double fine with PBJ (no points on your license if you stay clean for a year) like all the others with me - and there were a LOT. Quite the moneymaking endeavor.

very interesting...I only ask because i have 3 points already from other non-base related driving violations, one of which was in Nov. of 2012, only 1 month after the one i got on base. well both were paid within the 30 day alotment. and because i acrued those points, i got a letter in the mail from the MVA stating that i have that many points. so it said i had my 2 point violation from early on in 2012, then the one in Nov. but nothing about the one in Oct on base

Is it the same everywhere? People here (Indian Head NSWC) say that if they pay the ticket that it does not go on their license. A coworker gets one every few months.
