(Moonchilds hubby here) Just to comment on this bit, Hemi Charger police units only cost about 2K more than a similarly equipped Crown Vic, about 22K per cruiser. Not a bad amount, considering the modern features (stability control modern suspension and crash structure) ,it brings, and additional performance. They are not any faster than a normal Hemi Charger, but thats still a good bit faster and better handling than the CVPI.

How's the new "equity firm" going to supply parts for em??

They look good now, lets wait until they've been driven hard and put away wet for two years, see how the po po like them then..

Bob, the longevity question is valid, only time will tell on that. As far as parts, Daimler has already said that they will support existing joint products, but most stuff that was Mercedes derived was either through subcontractors, like Continental-Teves NA, makers of the MK25e ESP/ABS system, or converted to Chrysler production like the W5A580 5 speed auto, mode for Chrysler in thier Kokomo IN transmission plant, which was converted to produce them.
