Dodge Journey opinions

I'm starting to look for a new or couple years old used vehicle. Plan to get one of the cross-over type vehicles. Saw a couple Dodge Journeys and wanted to know if anyone has a constructive opinion on them. Read a bunch of reviews on line and they ranged from loving everything about them to hating everything.

Only you can judge what you like. Go take a look at one. Dodge is discontinuing the Caravan, so the Journey has been tabbed as its replacement. It's a minivan with no sliding doors.

That's what I've heard about it. It's the caravan with a new body. I'm going to try and get closer look this weekend.

I rented one (Journey) 2011 in August fot 10 days. I liked it a lot. About 20 MPG, plenty of power and all the electronic gizmos people want.

Ok, since all the "constructive opinions seem to be used up, I'll go.

I am not a big fan of either the vehicle or the band.

Ok. What didn't you like other then it being a dodge? I'm not limiting myself to it. Just happened to look at one the other day. I have no brand loyality, so I'm looking at all the cross-overs in that size range. Need enough space for two 50+ lb. dogs along with passengers. But don't want a full size SUV for economic reasons.

Sorry, as I said, this was not a serious response. The Caravan is supposed to be a good platfrom. I drove one and liked it. Not familiar with the Journey body.

I have a motto that I will share...I will never ever buy a Dodge vehicle again.

Don't do it. Dodge has great designs and great concepts and great looks. I get the appeal. But long term they don't run worth a crap. Over a certain amount of mileage and they don't run worth a crap. Expired warranty and they don't run worth a crap. :ohwell:

It's a percentage game. For every one person that loves their Dodge, there's 10 of us shuddering in the corner sucking our thumbs, muttering about never buying a Dodge again.

Like I said I don't have any brand loyality. I have a 02 Dakota Quad Cab right now. It's starting to have some small problems after 250,000 miles. Don't feel like putting more money into it for a everyday vehicle Only bought it because it was on the lot as a used truck (person returned it because he ended up needing a full size) and got a great deal on it from a friend who worked at the dealership.

Apparently Dodge can't give them away!!

The person that found the second Journey declined accepting it.

(Dodge is giving away 5 Journey's hidden around the US, you find one of them and it's yours!)

Consumer reports isn't a fan of Dodge, they just don't seem to hold up, or hold their value over the long term.

Besides, just go to the source and buy a Fiat..

If you aren't going to buy American, don't hide the fact..

:yeahthat:

agree with everything you typed migtig, have been burned by 2 dodges. " Don't do it. Dodge has great designs and great concepts and great looks. I get the appeal. But long term they don't run worth a crap." They don't have the reliabilty i look for in vehicles. This comes from at the same time we went through 2 dodges with relatively low mileage on them i put 320,000 miles on a Toyota 4x4 pickup and kept for over 16 years with no major repairs compared to the dodges. JMHO
