Summary:
A new psychology study provides evidence that being overweight makes people tired and sedentary, rather than vice versa. Life scientists placed 32 female rats on one of two diets for six months. The first, a standard rat's diet, consisted of relatively unprocessed foods like ground corn and fish meal. The ingredients in the second were highly processed, of lower quality and included substantially more sugar -- a proxy for a junk food diet."

One of the more interesting points was that reversing the diets of both showed no short term change .... now that's a concern if one has been eating junk food.

You can't abuse your body for years, then expect it to bounce back within a few weeks of healthy habits. That is pure common sense.

What seems like common sense doesn't become a fact until it has been studied scientifically, not just once but many times under differing circumstances.

For all the geeks that need "studies" to see that junk food does indeed promote one to become fat and lazy, I suggest that common sense and observations of people who are obese be enough. If all else fails ask a doctor!

I'm sure there would be quite a bit of debate over what constitutes junk food. There are the obvious items like bagged chips, but what criteria is one to use to qualify what constitutes junk food? Okay so I did a Google search and found this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Junk_food
