Chia pet making a come back
We have an 11 y/o German Shepherd and a 2 1/2 y/o Chihuahua. The GSD has always munched on grass, but now it is a bit over the top. She will lay on the ground outside and eat down into the dirt getting the roots.
She does not get sick - but will eat the grass and dirt... now, she has the damn Chihuahua doing it. I have these divots all over the yard and I am tired of twisting my ankle.
We have asked our vet and they say "Could be nervous habit, boredom, vitamin deficiency, " Well, we have her on NutroMax Puppy food as she has always been on the thin side and we are trying to keep her weight up. She is very active and still runs, but is starting to slow down.
Ok doggie peeps, what are your thoughts to get dumb and dumber to stop doing this? What am I missing?? We have never had dogs do this and we think the younger one is picking this up from the GSD...

Dog eating grass
I've heard of carnivorous plants, like the Venus Flycatcher, but I've never seen grass that can eat a dog.
If they start wearing dredlocks and looking high, i'd excavate the yard quickly.
put antifreeze on the grass that will learn them. Then you could just go buy a couple of goats.
ans'oPrestone: As wrong as that was I did laugh my azz off!
