Dog Poisoning

I just got a disturbing phone call that a friends dog's were poisoned with antifreeze this past weekend. One did not make it. They live in the Cox road area of Huntingtown. Not sure if this was an isolated incident or something more.
There will be a reward for the arrest and conviction of the scumbag who did this. It will be in the paper(s) later this week. Our friend's devistated as you could imagine.

Sad to hear about your friend's dog.

I have lived next door to a dog that barked all the time and complaints to the police went unheeded because the owner was a local "good 'ole boy". I wound up moving, but antifreeze was becoming a possible solution.

Sorry about that .....I am afraid it might be an "accident" some people do not know.
I know what you mean but it has been determined to be deliberate.
I posted this more as a heads up that there's a sicko out there. What is not known is if it's an isolated incident or not.

How was it determined to be deliberate if they don't know who did it?

so sad I am very sorry...was the dog poisoned in its own yard or was he out running..I mean if he was running he could have just gotten into something in a neighbors bucket or something..I hate to think someone put out antifreeze on purpose..if the dog was running he should have been home...just give more details...I am again sorry and not trying to be mean..

Offhand, I can't think of a situation that antifreeze would be accidentally available to an animal unless it was dripping from the auto.

:yeahthat: Were the dogs running free, or were they poisoned at home?

They were inside dog's who had/have their own fenced in area...a classic back yard set up that any dog would love to have. The house is off the road a bit with family on both sides. One of the family members saw someone come and go kinda quick last week...thursday or friday they wern't sure. The dog's became ill friday night and after a quick local vet visit they diagnosed a poisoning in both dog's. They then rushed the dog's to annapolis where one died. They found tennis ball remnants in the dogs belly that tested positive for antifreeze. The other is ok for now but only time will tell. They think that somebody soaked a tennis ball and just threw it in the yard with the other dog toys. This will be in the local paper this week. It just so happens that the dog who died was a humane society foster.

Thats rather sad that people are actually doing these types of things. However I would be scared to think why they are doing this. One reason is that they are upset with the dogs and noise possibly? Another is that they may have been trying to kill the animals so that they may attempt a breakin perhaps in the future? I would definately be on the alert after someone attempted or did kill one of my animals, but for whatever reason they don't like dogs. They say that most serial killers start out abusing and killing animals when they are younger and graduate to killing people when they get older, -the lack of respect for life... People nowadays are just screwed up honestly. i hope they catch the @$$holes :buttkick:

Regardless of whatever the nature is, I don't understand how anyone can be so cruel to poision an animal. That's so unreal to me. We live in a neighorhood and a dog a neighorhood away barks constantly but I never think about hurting him, I actually always wonder what is going on that is a) marking him bark and b) is something wrong with him.

I also don't necessarily understand why people have pets, dogs, and keep them chained up outside 24/7, what's the point of having an animal? My sister had two dogs and did this, that's no life for an animal. Just my opinion. I'll stand by for the red karma.
