Why do you think masks don‘t offer any protection?

Here is an analogy that might help you understand the concept:
If you walk around nude and someone pees on you, you’ll get wet
if you wear pants and someone pees on you, you’ll be partially protected
if the guy peeing also wears pants and he pees his pants, you don’t get wet.

Just because you don’t agree with the concept because you choose to believe whoever told you they don‘t work, doesn’t mean they don’t work.
The masks are to prevent people spraying their words and microscopic droplets forward. They do NOT prevent the escape of the wearers breath around the edges of the mask. Even the experts agree they offer NO protection to the wearer because they are not a hermetic seal around your face.

A simple test - go to the farm and wear your mask around the pig pens. If you can smell the pigs then COVID can get in too.

The masks are nothing but a mud flap who's wearing was deemed necessary when we knew nothing on this virus. Designed to keep your funk close and not spewing in the face of strangers. And that cover your nose thing, you're only in danger when your head is near my crotch.

Major Study Finds Masks Don’t Reduce COVID-19 Infection Rates

A high-quality, large-scale Danish study finds no evidence that wearing a face mask significantly minimizes people’s risk of contracting COVID-19. The randomized-control trial found no statistically significant difference in coronavirus infection rates between mask-wearers and non-mask-wearers. In fact, according to the data, mask usage may actually increase the likelihood of infection.

“The recommendation to wear surgical masks to supplement other public health measures did not reduce the SARS-CoV-2 infection rate among wearers by more than 50% in a community with modest infection rates, some degree of social distancing, and uncommon general mask use,” the authors summarized their results.

Masks Are Just Part of the Socialists' Uniform

The Centers for Disease Control released another study showing no statistically significant decrease in "daily case" or "death growth" rates from COVID-19 in areas with mask mandates. This comes after a similar CDC study in October indicated that mask mandates do not appear to have slowed or stopped the spread of the coronavirus at all. Still, the CDC continues to recommend that all Americans wear masks, except in certain private settings when individuals are fully vaccinated, unless the goalpost-shifting Dr. Fauci gets his way.

This whole "masks don't seem to be having much effect, but wear them anyway" bureaucratic calculus may seem like a frivolous controversy to Americans preoccupied with the pandemic, but for Americans who are equally worried about the State's steady encroachment into the lives of families, mask mandates are the worst kind of noxious administrative abuse — another iteration of government coercion that constricts a person's freedom while accomplishing next to nothing. It's government rule-making for the sake of rule-making whose chief purpose is to demonstrate that it is the government's job to command and each citizen's duty to readily obey.

Mask mandates are the perfect metaphor for a government that demands obedience:

Mask mandates are reminiscent of Barack Obama's belief that wealthy Americans should be taxed at higher rates, even if the imposition of those new taxes produces no net benefit for the federal treasury. By his own admission, Obama's insistence on increasing taxes for wealthy Americans was not about generating government revenue or reducing government debt, but rather about punishing individual Americans for having acquired too much personal wealth. It was a way for Obama to prove that he takes income inequality seriously while doing nothing about it.

In the same way, our American mask mandates are not really about reducing the spread of disease or "following the science," but rather about insisting that individual Americans prove through their attire that they take COVID-19 seriously, even if masks do nothing about it.
American Thinker & The Federalist are not scientific journal articles with any medical expertise.

It really doesn't matter if masks work or don't work, at this point. Most places HAVE adopted those CDC "Guidelines" for their businesses and public places.

What I want to know is how a mask can't stop a virus, but people claim they don't let out CO2 even though a virus is 10x the size of a CO2 molecule.

I don’t think they are 100% effective at stopping a virus, I simply believe they help in stopping peoples filth and spit from spraying in the air. The less filth and spit flying through the air, landing on surfaces, etc is less of a chance that someone sucks in or touches other peoples filth and spit. Pretty simple concept IMO

Yup, pretty close to what I've read as well and that combined with social distancing, hand sanitizers, and being religious about washing your hands may help prevent you from getting the virus. That's always made perfect sense to me because doctors tell you to keep your hands clean during cold/flu season, stay home if you're sick, and don't expose your sickness to those around you.

EXACTLY

If all those filthy damn people had just washed their hands after going to the bathroom and didn't sneeze and snot all over the damn place, we wouldn't be in this mess in the first place.

Oh I know they don't. But seriously if something so simple reduced my chances of having a heart attack or getting cancer by 10% people would be all over that. crap people are paying $5 for a gallon of alkaline water cause it "helps".

I still see people pooping at work and not washing their hands afterward.
I would be giving them the freaking evil eye every time they left the bathroom!!!!!

I've had delivery people come into the office and do that - and I go wipe down the door knobs and sink, etc. I'm not a germaphobe by any means, but use damn common sense, people!

When you hear the toilet flush and then the person exits the bathroom while toilet is currently in flush mode, you know damn well they didn’t wash their hands. 🤢 Hell what if their finger went through the toilet paper ???
