Anyone have any experience with Dr. Bryan Herron in Prince Frederick? He is an Orthopedic doctor. Two year old granddaughter has appointment to see him next Monday. Thinking the reason she isn't walking is because of her hip. Just wondering how good he is.

Thanks

I really like him. Don't care for his office staff, but if you can get past that, he's a good dr. Was great with our son when he broke his leg and required surgery. He's good with kids. :yay:

I don't know anything about Dr. Herron but I saw that you thought she might have a problem with her hip. When my son was 2, he could walk but when he did he slightly through his hip out, I went to several area doctors and they could not tell me why he did that. I finally took him to ortho at Childrens and they diagnosed him with what is called Perthes disease, sounds scary but all it was is that the ball joint in his hip was deteriorating. They said there is not a cure, or treatment, just that he would outgrow it around age 5-6. Happy to say, they were dead on correct. He is now a healthy, very athletic 13 yr old..hope this helps.

Thanks. I hope it is nothing serious for my granddaughter. The regular foot doctor she goes to first thought it was her foot because it looked like she walked on the side of it. He gave her inserts for her shoes which seemed to straighten the foot but then he noticed something about her hip so wanted a specialist's opinion. Hopefully it is nothing serious. She is 2 but was a premmie.

He had to perform surgery on my leg by putting in a plate and seven screws....awesome doctor! I highly recommend him!

Good-luck!

He worked on my mom's shoulder... She really liked him and he solved the problem... with surgery and copious amounts of physical therapy.

He is also attractive :yay: always a plus.

I would not recommend Dr. Herron to anyone. His office staff seems really unorganized. Plus, we also had a very long wait for our appts.

My son's injuries were misdiagnosised, so he did not receive the proper care. We went there for a few months, and there were no improvements. It took a routine appt with his pediatrician to finally get results. Dr. Singh took one look at the injury and said this is not right. He sent us to John Hopkins.

My son had surgery this past Friday at JH. (He may even need one more surgery once he is older.) We just had a follow up today. For the first time in six months, my son can move his finger. Yeah!! He was so excited to be able to hold a baseball bat again!!

If your grandbaby does see Dr Herron, just go with your gut. If you don't feel confident, get a second opinion asap.

Goodluck with your Granddaughter.
