Heading for a second opinion or a real one, not happy with my first opinion at all.

Thanks
JD

Dr. Rozran did my second knee surgery. It went great. That was 9 years ago. Always get a few Dr. opinions before surgery.

I would absolutely never go to Rozran again. He kept pushing his agenda of orthopeadic options, when, in fact I had nerve damage. THe herniated discs became secondary to my nerve issue. Anyway, all the recommendations that Rozran made to me (physical therapy, massage therapy, acupuncture, and steroid shots) only made my particular issue more painful. All the movement of muscle and so forth just aggreviated the nerve, which when I ultimately went in for surgery two weeks ago, the nerve looks so aggrevated that it resembled ground beef.

But who knows..... I can only speaking from my own experience with him. I'm sure that there are other people out there who are thrilled with his work, and would recommend him to others.

If you find that you have nerve damage moreso than orthopaedic damage, I'd be glad to recommend the doctor that just worked on my back. Just two hours after surgery, and still in the recovery room, I KNEW with all certainty that I felt better than I did before the surgery. As a matter of fact, I felt better than I had in 12 years. I'm still recovering, but know in 6 weeks, I'm gonna feel great!

Good luck to you! :huggy:

My mom went to Rozran for severe knee pain. He told her she was favoring that knee and should just start walking normal and she'd get over it. Ma knew there was much more to it than that... got a 2nd opinion and it turned out she needed a complete knee replacement. Not only was she "bone on bone", she had worn away enough bone that with each step she had bone spurs rubbing and the new doc couldn't figure out how she managed to keep walking as well as she did.

Met Dr Rozran once for issues with the screws in my hand and never went back. He was way too busy, never read my chart, and wanted to solve everything with a cortisone shot and not really find out what the problem was.

I loved Dr. Travis is Leonardtown and if I have any more issues I will pay out of pocket to go see him again.

Rozran gave me a wrong diagnosis. Travis was ok, but I love Dr. Herran in Calvert...I have his number if you want....plus they always manage to make me an appointment without having to wait weeks....

I saw Spatz several times for an ankle. I liked her, but opted to go up the road for my second ankle surgery. Dr. Henderson (So. Md. Ortho) did the first surgery. BIG MISTAKE!

I went to Rozran for lower back pain and he basicaly told me to go to a chiropractor and get straightened out because I was all knotted up. I finally went to Center for Advanced Orthopedics and saw Yousaf. Come to find out I have a buldging disc and a tear . Did some PT and feel great.

Dr. Rozran treated my son for a broken collar bone. He "cleared" my son to go back to regular activities, including sports...my son "re-broke" his collar bone a week later from a "bump" from a kid on the bus. He was always late, very abrupt and impatient with questions. I could not recommend this doctor to anyone.

My daughter saw Dr. Spatz for a broken wrist. And my son for foot that was broken in 3 places. She was great. We would see her again if we needed. Hope we have no more breaks.

Dr. Rozran did surgery on me a few hours ago at Calvert hospital. He put a pin in my broken ankle. He also caught two other fractures higher up the leg that both St. Mary's Hospital and a doctor recommended by them missed.

I would recommend Dr. Rozran very highly. And i'm looking at his handiwork right now!

i didn't like Rozran at all.
Seeing Spatz next week. She comes highly recommended. He tends to minimize things IMO. He dictated this about the patient before me, who was continuing to have back pain even after surgery: "mri was clear; a hypochondriac and i passed her on" :dead: NOT happy hearing that one.
He wants to fix the torn meniscus, and too leave the completely ruptured ACL alone and live with my knee popping out whenever it wants, i'll be OK according to him. This is the leg i use to mount my horse. NOT.

Mikeybash's son has seen Rozran & Spatz, too

A few years ago, Rozran & Spatz spent a LOT of time with our son, ruling out a tentative arthritis diagnosis from our pediatrician. They were very patient, very thorough, very respectful and kind to him...I was very pleased.

About 2 years later, the same son broke his arm. Rozran and Spatz took great care of him, again treating him very well even though he is just a kid...

So naturally I was pleased when our insurance covered Mikeybash's visits to Rozran and Spatz. SOOOO glad that they caught (and fixed) the problems that St Mary's Hospital and the Cox group completely ignored.

Yes, Rozran's office is dingy. But their staff is great. They will answer any and all questions thoroughly and respectfully, they haven't made us wait for appointments, and they have helped us out with good results on several occasions.

this was recent as in last week. i hope it wasn't you..He kept saying to her..."now....you DO feel just a little better after surgery, right?" Like, well I've done what i can do for you, and you DO feel better....He told the woman, "I have NO problem if you want to see someone else, here is a guy you can see." i felt TERRIBLE for the poor woman. I know what it's like to continue to have pain after surgery...my knee has been giving me trouble since i had surgery on it several years ago, and this recent ACL thing might have been a long time coming....

I am seeing Dr. Rozran and I am not impressed at all. I feel like I am caught between a rock and a hard place with insurance coverage though...

I have another appointment with him again next week and I just shudder at trying to decipher what it is he isn't telling me - I can't even get a diagnosis.

He isn't very thorough, his office staff perplexes me and I am not even sure what the short term/long term route of treatment is supposed to be. I am going to end up running out of PT time and referral visits and be no better off.
