They've been sandbagging in Winfield, Missouri for weeks knowing that it was just a matter of time before flood waters from Iowa would reach this small town north of St. Louis.

But as the people of Winfield were sandbagging, they did not see who was working against them digging through the levee walls.

The dreaded river rats dug through the levees in Winfield, Missouri.

I find it interesting that there is no video on the evening news of looters or hapless victimes awaiting rescue with the wide spread flooding in the mid west.
No one is blaming FEMA for not rushing in with money for new TVs or asking for crappy trailer parks to be set up or calls to rebuild vanilla cities.

There was a similar story a few months back but the premise was the reverse. Beavers built a dam that was preventing water entering an area. Darn varmits would disappear whenever someone came around.

Big argument over whether to kill them or transport them elsewhere, but nobody wanted them (sound familiar?). Maybe we should do the humane thing and transport troublesome varmits to that pristine place we can't drill for oil in Alaska. There's plenty of room up there.
