Not sure if a thread for this topic has already been started elsewhere, but I was just wondering if anyone knows of any local parks/homes/areas where we can drive through to look at Christmas Lights/Decorations? I vaguely remember driving through someone's property near the Brass Rail one year...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!:howdy:

Used to be able to do Anne Marie Gardens, but this year I believe you can only walk through.

It is Flat Iron Rd. if you're coming south on Rt. 5 it'll be on your right about a mile (?) or so down that rd.

Merry Merry!

Sandy Point State Park is worth the drive to kill an evening. Use to take kiddo when he was little to McDonalds then drive through and look at the lights. :yay:

That's Flat Iron Farm and it's bigger and better than ever this year!!!!! There are shops, food, pony rides and SANTA! Barns open Friday and Saturday at 6. Just turn past the brass rail on Flat Iron Rd. Make sure you tune your radio to 88.7!!!!!!!!!!!:yahoo:

Watkins Regional Park in Upper Marlboro (Watkins Park Drive) off of Rte. 202 has a nice drive-through display. Not sure if there's a fee. They used to ask for canned food donations.

Has anyone been to Annemarie Gardens this year?

Homestead Gardens in Davidsonville, but you will definitely want to get out and walk through their "store". Beautiful decorations, different themes, and you can also buy what you see if you desire. The also have a pretty large model train set up, and lots of interesting things to look at.

they do have an impressive display dont they

on their MNCPPC employee opening night of the display they have games and crafts for the kids in the nature center, Chick Filla is set up giving away free meals, then they do the lighting of the park where some lucky kid (skillet girl did it one year) gets to flip the switch and all the park lights come on at once.
then they pull you around the park in Hay wagons to see the lights.

pretty much a good time there.

I use to go there all the time when I was a kid! Now I take my kids there. Its a nice long, slow drive and they usually have a Christmas station you tune to. I dont think they take food donations but they charge per vehicle. Its worth what they charge and they dont break you. We are taking our kids next weekend!!!
