:poorbaby: come to WR.

Have they checked you to see if you're dilated yet? effaced? etc...

:cds:

I'm going today. I have a fantasy in my head they will say, "well LT, you are 6cm, you go on ahead to the hospital to have a pain free birth" and I shout 'hooray!" and then I go have a baby. :coffee:

:roflmao: Don't we all wish that? Have you been having contractions? Do you still have your plug? Everyone keeps telling me to have sex to speed up the process because something to do with the semen softens your cervix?

:coffee: Get busy, lady.

I had my 37-week appointment this morning... My appointment was at 07:50... the office doesnt open until 08:00.... so there I waited. :coffee:

I told the Nurse Practitioner that I have been having a lot of pressure and contractions.

She measured my stomach and sent me on my way. :ohwell:

But it really doesn't tell you much... I've know some who were 3-4 cm for weeks and others that were 1 cm and sent home only to go into labor that same day. Doesn't matter what they tell you... it will happen when it happens.

Unless it doesn't happen and then they have to make it happen.

I was 4 centimeters w/ one for weeks and had to end up being induced so you never know when the bambino is ready its ready!
I understand where they are coming from... just need a little assurance that everything is going as should be.

At this point you should be asking and not waiting on them to ask you

The youth of today are so impatient :cds:

:huggy:
I remember those days... I remember with my first I just knew I was going to have him any day once he dropped and I started Braston-Hicks... he came 4 weeks later... right on time... Heck... the week before he was born my contractions started at 20 minutes apart and then went to 5 minutes apart... I walked into the emergency room smiling at 4 minutes apart and the triage nurse told me, "Honey... it you are walking upright and smiling you'll be heading back home soon... it ain't the real thing." She was right...:cussing:

Yes... I said, "I havent been checked since 35 weeks... can you check me to let me know if I am AT LEAST making any progress?!?!" (I saw Anne Naru) and she said "we try not to go down there unless it is necessary... once you get closer to your due date, we will be more eager to check you." :eyebrow:

I am only 21 days away :cds:

Interesting little blurb this morning on channel 9 news about a bunch of women who were overdue going into labor after eating a certain cupcake from a shop in Charlottesville. Didn't catch the shop's name and it wasn't up on the channel 9 website. After googling Charlottesville, VA+cupcake and looking for who had the "Lemon Drop" cupcake, I came up with this:

Cappellinos Crazy Cakes | Charlottesville, VA

Interesting story as the ladies all swear they went into labor after eating the lemon drop cupcake.

Just a little bit of trivia to keep in mind should your due date come, and go, with no little one in sight. :roflmao:

Something similar happened to me with baby #2 at Washington Hospital Center. Apparently I was only 2cm dilated so they told me to go home (an hour away). I insisted I was going to have that baby that night but they wouldn't believe me so hubby & I drove around the bumpiest streets we could find for an hour, went to visit my cousin in Silver Spring for an hour and then went back to the hospital and delivered my son a few hours later.
