Dumb Coffee question

I've never been a coffee drinker, I know most everyone is but I've never been a fan of beverages served hot. I did however have an iced coffee drink a few weeks ago and have recently become an addict. My question is...I noticed that they sell iced coffee for the Keurig machines. Now here comes the dumb question part. Is the iced coffee served at restaurants, coffee houses etc. different than just buying regular coffee and putting it on ice with some skim milk and sugar?

I think they just pour it over a ton of ice... that's how I've seen it...

Iced coffee on a warm spring/summer morning is the way to go.

That's kind of what I thought, I've made regular coffee from my Keurig thingy at home, but you must need a crap ton of ice because it melts the ice SO fast Also, I'm not sure of the difference between and iced latte vs. iced coffee?

I make a pot of coffee and refrigerate it, so it doesn't melt the ice so much and get watered down.

I think this is what I'll try, I'm ordering a bunch of flavors today !

I've tried the pre-mixed iced coffee found at the grocery store in the carton and it's just not the same.

thanks !:buddies:

my roomie and I do iced coffee all summer. We brew a pot a little stronger than usual and refrigerate it (in a glass containor..the plastic takes on the taste/smell of the coffee and is no good for switching flavors) and in the morning add ice, cream and voila..iced cofee. You can even purchase the flavored syrups online that are used in many iced coffee places..

and add a scoop of protein powder yum!

yeah, I was thinking more like ordering the actual Dunkin' or starbucks brand ones, but yes, that is also true :killingme

I don't do sugar, so I just usually use the sugar free flavored creamers..the sugar free sweet italian cream is very good! I am glad too, because I could def get fat on iced coffee..I like a lot of cream and sugar :killingme

Keurig

One of the things I love about my apartment is the clubhouse. Granite kitchen and the size of my apartment (my apartment counters are Formica, so don't get jealous...yet)

They offer 10+ flavors for the coffee and 10+ creamers to add. A refrigerator/freezer is to the side if you want it "iced".

I'm not working for them...yet.

You can step it up a notch by pouring some of the coffee in an ice cube tray and freezing it. Then melting ice won't water it down if it takes you a while to finish it

It is brewed stronger so when it is poured over ice, the coffee doesnt seem diluted. :huggy:
