Reading comprehension sweetie. I was agreeing with KK. Of course I know of them. We would stop by Betty Russels on poker runs on the bikes.

Plus you know I've been here longer than 30 yrs as you have so diligently reminded me on occasion!! :smack:
(sorry, didn't mean to do that in public again) :flowers:  :huggy:

Is anything going to change with the Early Bird, other than the owners? I mean that Third Base is still the little store it used to be and if the same people are buying the Early Bird what makes some of you think it will be a drastic change like what comes with a WaWa or Sheetz?

Who the hell is Betty Russell? Or Buzzy? Poon was the original owner of the Early Bird when it was across from the Dew Drop Inn, I have lived in the county all my life, some 30 years now, I've never heard of Buzzy or Betty Russell.

The Early Bird will go to shiat anywho because of the cheesebruger paradise that's coming to wildewood, the new owner gave the guy 100K more than what he was asking for it, or so I heard. IGA in Leonardtown is closing too.

Does anyone remember when Joe Heard used to own the Exxon Station which is now, or used to be called Hollywood Auto Tech? It's beside the Moose Lodge on Mervill Dean Road at the intersection of ClarksLanding, and beside Exxon used to be Adams Body Shop.

My father always says "they won't be happy until there isn't a tree left in the county", then he cuts and throws beer cans in the Patuxent River, this I never understand. I can understand people being sentimential, but change is inevitable, and welcoming in my book, we need to get some of the good ole' boy mentality out of this county. In addition, why should we dislike someone for starting a business that isn't from the county or even the same nationality? We have the same equal opportunities as they do, we just chose not to do so IMO.

I say Good Day. :howdy:

On another note, X3 kicks A$$
It is ok to leave Hollywood every once in a while. There is life north of Leonardtown/Hollywood Rd and south of St. Andrew's Rd. :howdy:

How will the Cheeseburger In Paradise cause the Early Bird to go to shiat? I don't see CIB being a place to run in and get a quick bite while on a 30 minute lunch.

If I can't get a BLT from Early Bird when the new owner's take over, I'm going to be p*ssed.

When Poon owned it, the cheeseburgers used to be as big as my head.

I'll still be going to Early Bird, just like I go to BurchMart and McKays. If people don't like all the changes, then they should continue to support local businesses and do without if need be.

The reason J sold the business from what I "heard" is that he was tired of the hours and not being able to find reliable help. ie: some of the younger ones he would hire expected to start out making more than minimum wage, and not actually have to work for it. He wants to find a 9-5 job so that he can spend more time w/his family and have some time for himself. As I said this is what I "heard", so this may be fact or it may not be

I'm sure the 1.5 million I saw it advertised for had nothing to do with his decision......

I see nothing wrong with a man making a profit on a business that he's worked his butt off for. More power to him. :yay:

He started out owning/running Dew drop...then he also bought Early Bird....then sold Dew Drop.....moved the early bird and is now selling it. Dew Drop has gone through 3-4 owners since J sold it.....

Wow...Its funny, I remember all of those places and yes, I bought my first pack of smokes (Salem Lights) at Early Birds. I also remember buying nightcrawlers at Buzzy's on my down to the Point.
