Julian is nice. Loved it there.
Government greed.Loved Julian, Great Apple Pie!
Took a tour of the mine on the hill above town! The guide said there were 52 mines in the area that still have more gold in them then the rush of 1849. The federal govt won't let them mine it any longer! Doesn't make much sense to me!
Question: what happened to the gold in Ft. Knox?Loved Julian, Great Apple Pie!

Video from the San Diego Zoo Safari Park shows a herd of African elephants respond to the movement, first running as the ground shakes, then coming together to form a tight circle around a young elephant. The group stayed tightly together for about four minutes. A Zoo spokesperson said the behavior is called an “alert circle” and said it is “intended to protect the young — and the entire herd — from threats.”
You worried over rippling water?I'm in Arizona.... a drivable distance from San Diego. Yesterday I had one of those cheap bottles of water sitting on a side table. You know the type, they sit kind of wonky even when full. Anyway.... out of nowhere... for no apparent reason... The water started to ripple in the bottle. The cheap plastic bottle didn't shake but the water in it formed ripples. Then I heard about the earthquake.
Wasn't there an earthquake in the Philippines about the same time?
I asked my daughter, who's been in Arizona for at least 20 years. She says it is possible the ripples were from the earthquake. But she warned me not to worry... She's only been shaken by earthquake once in Arizona and it was a very long time ago.
Just thought that might add to your post about the earthquake. Geologists also report Mt. Spurr in Alaska as well as a couple others in Washington and Oregon are heating up. AND... the caldera in the Grand Canyon is heating up as well.
