It was pretty impressive here. Just a very small sliver of the sun. Still enough of a sliver that it never got dark.
Well that was underwhelming. We had about 80% coverage and if I hadn't gone out to look I'd have just thought it was overcast.

We saw it in Erie and I can say, quite possibly the most amazing thing I’ve seen in my life. When it went black, it was like night, and the sun was this awe inducing ring in the sky.
We watched with the glasses up UNTIL that moment and we were all amazed at the fact that even when mostly covered it still looked normal outside. My kids thought it was kind of cool, taking pics through their glasses - but NOTHING came close to the awe of that final moment.
When it returned the light returned quickly, like a fast sunrise.
I highly recommend seeing one in totality. Sadly, there won’t be one in the U.S. for 20+ years, but there’s actually an eclipse somewhere in the world every 18 months or so.

I can envision Sleepy Joe rambling into the campaign office in the WH (in his safety sneakers and cpap marks) raising holy hell because they didn't come up with that.
We didn't have a lot darkness, and there weren't any clouds at all to speak of until the sun was at the peak coverage here (PF). We did get less brightness of the sun, tho!! It was fun - we experimented with our homemade (office made!) pinhole viewer, and with trying to take pics with the glasses over the camera lense! 
One of my co-worker's littles came over and she loved all the hooplah, so it was also cool to see her excitement!
