"Independent" is not a party :duh: It is the lack of a party, it means the same as "unaffiliated." Independents do not band together to form a party or create a platform. By definition, they will never, ever have a primary of their own, to pare down their own candidates. Anyone running as an Independent candidate is purposely NOT seeking the support of a party.

As a former Election Judge and a candidate for public office, shouldn't basic knowledge of the election process be a requirement?
