Electric range to Gas range

No problems. I had a plumber (Affordable Plumbing) install a line (with a three outlet 'T'). drilled through brick/block into crawl space then ran the line. One line each for drop in stove top, fireplace and outdoor grill. Taylor installed tank and regulator. Electricity was no big deal either, just installed another outlet.
No building permit needed in St. Mary's that I know of.
Middle of hurricane we were cooking spaghetti...

This was exactly my thinking! I decided after being out of power for 5 days we needed to get a small generator and a gas stove.

Cool thanks guys! Was it pricey to switch to gas? How often do you have to have the gas filled?

Taylor Gas is coming out Tuesday to run the gas to our new stove and water heater.

I'm sure they would come out and install a tank and run the lines for you because if you have their tank you have to have them fill it

Go ahead and put a 500 gallon tank in so when you get your 20kw standby genny, you'll have plenty of fuel.

I bought my fireplace from Hearth and Patio place in Waldorf, and they ran the line for free, but I had to pay for building permit for them to install the line and fireplace. No biggie deal.

.

We bought ours from Taylor Gas for a 1/3rd the price of Hearth and Patio..

Good thing you REFUSE to do business with Taylor!!

Is your 500 gallon tank above ground or buried? I'd like to add propane but would want the tank buried. Might be a good time with my yard torn up from uprooted trees. Any advice on burying a tank?

To add the pipe lines in the house inside the walls, under the basement ceilings/crawlspace ceilings, etc. You need to have it inspected to make sure it is installed correctly or a house will blow up.
They have to be qualified to install gas lines. They don't blow up houses if they are qualified, well, they shouldn't anyway...
We had it done years ago. We run a gas dryer, fireplace, gas stove. Fill up 2-3 times year. Propane is higher price than natural gas though...

Who said we refused to do business with Taylor? We went to Taylor right after we bought the fireplace from Hearth and Patio, and asked for a contract to have gas service set up and delivery. They REFUSED to do business with us.

Yep. They're licensed professional, and they will give you a green sticker that said "Passed" the inspection. :yay:
