Elizabeth Warren counts on her supporters being stupid

Actually... YES... yes it is.

One was a lie. The other was.... a lie. Period!

The fact that one is admonished while the other is shrugged off and/or accepted is hypocrisy.
We'll have to agree to disagree. I can laugh at grandiosity, but not damaging stupidity. We knew Trump would do SOMETHING, that somehow he'd say Mexico paid for a wall when really WE paid for the wall, but one way or another we'd get a wall. As is being said by others, virtually EVERYBODY has agreed we need a wall, just like the 274 miles of it we paid for in Syria. No one with sense thinks we should demolish our republic by getting rid of the Electoral College, that's not a function of the presidency (whereas building a wall IS the function of the presidency), etc. So, you can call that hypocrisy, or see the differences that make it not. But, either way, in my view it's not, and in your view it is. We'll just have to agree to disagree.

So then the systems we have in place are working and we don't need to waste money on a physical wall. Glad we agree

It hasn't worked until it's zero. Or close to it.

"Getting better" is not "remission" or "cured".

And it only takes a single Democratic President to undo it all. The good thing about a wall is, it stays there after you change enforcement policy.

But you know - all these people who are against walls? They should consider - taking them down. Yep. Take down the ones in California.
Heck, take down the security walls around their houses and communities. Why should a border wall be immoral but a security fence not be?

Walls do work, and they work all around the world. They HAVE worked. Earlier this year, we celebrated the tearing down of the Berlin Wall.
Guess what? It did its job. Prior to its existence, people were pouring into the city.

Democrats don't object to a wall because it doesn't work - just a few years' prior to Trump, they approved 20 some billion for one. 700 miles of one. Obama was proud of that. They all were. So it had NOTHING to do with good money going after bad. It had NOTHING to do with "it doesn't work" because they overwhelmingly supported it a few years previously.

Believe it or not... I AGREE with your points.

My statement was focused on the people on here that cheer and/or diminish the lies from Conservative/R candidates on one side of their face. Then, they admonish and poke fun at Liberal/D lies with the other side of their face. They are both lies. Call them as such.

Can anyone guess what would happen to a recount if the Electoral College were eliminated?

Hint - there wouldn't be any. How do you recount over 100 million ballots?

I did mean "defend"

I'm sure you did. Which is why I stipulated that I'm only talking for myself. I don't defend Trump's empty promises. Nor do I condemn them - much like I don't condemn the empty promises of Warren, et al. When I attack Warren's empty promise, I'm attacking the premise of the promise.

To wit: I think abolishing the Electoral College would spell the end of any hope of repairing this limping republic.

It's a bad idea. Horribly, nation-crumblingly bad. Whether it's an empty promise or not, I couldn't care less. It's a terrible idea and anyone who supports it, is a drooling buffoon and should have their right to vote and/or reproduce revoked.

Ya' know... the hypocrisy and all...

In this case, I would be loathe to use the word hypocrisy.

I would call that "bias".

There's no shortage of that here, and I don't think anyone here denies they have a bias.

Agreed 100%

Just for clarification, I was specifically referring to this...

Hypocrisy:

The practice of engaging in the same behavior or activity for which one criticizes another.

Have you not seen the videos of people “climbing the proposed wall in seconds or cutting though it with a regular saw?
Freedom of speech sucks when it's not YOUR speech, eh?

it sucks when it’s pointless.

If that person would post an article, an idea or anything that fosters discussion it would be great. But I see lots of people on here who just hurl insults and no one does anything about it. I keep hearing about all these MPD’s that get blocked but I can’t imagine what they must have done if this kind of behavior is allowed to go unchecked.

Imagine how little time it takes to drive across open desert.

So I can only guess Schumer, Pelosi, 36 Democrat Senators and Obama himself were full of crap when THEY wanted a wall?

Again. That’s a lie. They approved funding for repairing infrastructure , surveillance and other forms of deterrents like fencing.
When you continue to lie about things like that it brings everything else you say into question.

This woman is a lawyer, she teaches law.
She makes a statement that this is how a democracy should work.
She doesn't seem to know that we are a Republic or she ignores the difference and bleats her ignorance to her ignorant supporters.

Well they're halfway there thanks to the Seventeenth Amendment.
Agree completely. I have no idea why they ratified themselves out of the federal government.

First thing I would do is try to repeal that, before any other changes to the constitution.

Pointless to you, perhaps. But, recall the quote: "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it" - Evelyn Beatrice Hall, paraphrasing what she believed Voltaire would have said.

Just be happy she is allowed to say anything she wants - it's what gives you that same ability. No matter how dumb what you say is.

Please explain the specifics of the fencing in the Secure Fence Act of 2006 that make it a lie to say the folks that voted for it were voting for a wall. What part of that wall was not a wall? What part of the wall today is a wall that makes it different?

Let me make it easy for you: "I'm splitting hairs to make the truth seem like a lie" is your only viable answer.
