23.5 Kilometers = Rate X 2000000 years

How do I figure the rate?

In this instance 23,500 meters/2000000 years = 0.01175 meters per year.

Divide both sides by 2,000,000 to isolate the X


23.5 = 2,000,000X

23.5/2,000,000 = 2,000,000X/2,000,000

.00001175 = 1X

Now if you want to bust out some calc, or do some first or seocnd derrivatives or find the upper limit on a parabala, or maybe factor an equation, or my favorite solving a quadratic then we would be talking.
