Engine light

Well talk about timing. I went to the transfer station and intended to stop by Meineke on the way past. The light was on when I headed to the xfr sta., but off on the way back. I didn't shut the engine off either.

"Service engine light soon" came on a couple days ago. Dropped by advance auto. Turns out it was a gas cap code. I hadn't touched that thing for about two weeks. Anyway good to know. Got new wipers in the process.

My check engine light came on because I was low on transmission fluid...or windshield fluid...or power steering fluid... or something. :ohwell:

Maybe you are out of washer fluid for the rear waher. It takes different fluid from the front washer, so dont mix them up.

My light isn't on anymore... my husband fixed whatever needed fixing... I just don't remember... :ohwell: And I didn't know that... I will be sure to tell the Mr. Tire guy that the next time he works on the car so he knows. :huggy: Thanks.

isnt the rear fluid stickier because it does not have the wind pushing it to the glass like the front one does?

I had the code read by advance Auto a couple weeks ago. It said gas cap which can mean a couple things like no negative pressure in the gas tank.

Seems to be the way.... I had the engine light on the other day, asked my friend to bring back my ODB analyzer when he visits this weekend, and the light went out on it's own.

At least I'll get my tester back...

Washer fluid is washer fluid. They have the same viscosity because the same stuff is used for both windows, usually. The same kind of pump that is used for the windshield is also used for the rear window; same for the fluid.
The jet is usually on the top of the rear window; as cars that have these are usually hatchbacks, or sometimes minivans and certain SUV's.

"Didn't you see the engine warning light?"
"Yes."
"And it didn't occur to you that something might be wrong?"
"Well, I figured the light would get brighter, or there would be a buzzer."

Don't forget to rotate your tire air to summer air before it gets too hot!!

I forgot the Caveat.

If you have BRIGHT green valve stem caps that means you have tires filled with Nitrogen and don't need to rotate from winter to summer air (the only reason so actually use nitrogen, one less maintenance task every 6 months).

If you take out the air and replace it with helium, it makes the car lighter and get better gas milage for the summer.

I saw the Mythbusters when they did that with footballs..

I'd like to see them repeat that with gas denser than air like Xenon Hexafluoride , see if that makes a difference in range..

Xenon Hexaflouride makes your teeth AND headlights brighter!!!
