Back in the 50s and into the 60s there was no need for daycare.
Fathers worked, mothers stayed home and did motherly things, like dress real nice while cleaning the bathroom and taking care of the beaver and Wally.
Then came this whole women working thing, got to have women working for you and got to actually pay them.
Now this doubled the applicants that companies had for each and every job, basically, overnight the workers to jobs ratio doubled.
The next logical step of course was for the employers to take note of this huge influx of available workers and actually lower the pay scale due to the competition in the market.
In the end, this has caused the pay scales to drop to a level that we now must have two income households and, the babies must be shipped off to a baby day camp where they will be indoctrinated into the liberal way of life, being forced to share toys and all with even the funny looking kids.
No longer can we the male, the breadwinner, the head of the household, the man the king, the superior being that all shall fall down and worshi.... oh wait, that could go wrong too.
Anyway, June aint home no more with Wally and the Beav' so the need for daycare has increased much since the days of our God intended way of life.
Oh wait; this was about daycare issues today, never mind.

Oh, but mom is still taking care of the beav.
Because it takes a very special kind of person to be able to effectively care for a large number of someone else's children simultaneously, and I'm not that kind of person. As much as I adore my child, I know that caring for five or six youngsters every day would challenge me to tears.Cowgirl said:Well, why don't all you moms looking for affordable daycare just open up your own? That way you can make money and stay at home with your babes.
Seriously though...you could make OK money for getting to be at home and raise your kids....

I think I need to borrow BadGirl's bebe for a week or so before I decide to have my own.RoseRed said:
I worked in day care centers when I got out of high school and had my fill. Why do you think I waited so long to have my own?

No, thank you. By age seven, their parents have already ruined them.RoseRed said:I'll let you borrow two 7 year olds. We tried to sell them off as kitchen help this evening.

I have finally trained mine to like shopping. It is fun taking her with me, too. I always ask her if my butt looks good in jeans. But it gets better...at least she's honest!K_Jo said:No, thank you. By age seven, their parents have already ruined them.

Call the Census Bureau.devilvice said:So no one is able to help with finding statistics or facts on this? I have no clue where to look. I have a daughter of my own and know the hardships of Daycare. I prefer a facility rather than a home provider. I live in Leonardtown and the only real daycare I know of is Sunshine, especially for toddlers, then in school aged at the before & after park and recs at school. It especially is a pain when the children are in school, then you are limited to the area of the school as far as finding daycare is concerned. Anyway, thanks for the input that was given.
