Exactly Even tho we've been locked in place for 7,8 weeks, typical sit-down restaurants are still deep into lessons learned with dealing with carry-out only. As for Jerry's..I've known Jerry for 40+ years and their customer service is something that is a cut above most restaurants and the Mother's Day snafu is something they deeply regret. I've had to deal with delays on carry-out items (waited an hour for an ice cream cone), I just cut them some slack.I'm not super busy today so here we go:
Mother's day is RIDICULOUS without a damn stay in place or whatever order and usually reservations are required/desired a week or so in advance. What would make anyone think that they would be able to call up a restaurant ON MOTHER"S DAY and place huge orders and not be prepared for long waits?
It's time to removed the cloak of invisibility from people making these complaints. If you are not willing to stand up and be identified your bi**ching and moaning doesn't matter. The law needs to be changed to allow the police to identify who is complaining so the business can take possible civil action for loss of revenue. He is an AMAZING owner and his restaurant is also amazing - the food is superb - and while I'm not a huge seafood eater, everything I've ever had there was awesome.
I'm glad they did so well on Mother's Day and I'm sure the a**hole who reported them will have his karma returned to him one day.
The cops know who called, all that info is logged. At the very least they have a phone number they can trace back, and I would do it in a heartbeat just to publicly ridicule them and of course file charges. It's time to removed the cloak of invisibility from people making these complaints. What Americans do not understand, first and foremost, is they live in at least an ALLEGEDLY free country. This means freedom of choice is paramount. The fact that businesses cannot stay open with people choosing whether they go or not is a direct violation of basic freedoms and principles. It's time to removed the cloak of invisibility from people making these complaints. Some places have done that.Restaurants should limit their menus when doing take out. Offer the 6 most popular entrees. It's easier to make a whole bunch of 1 thing than it is to make 6 different things. I have to think that people ordering to go would understand the limitations.
