My question is this. If you never felt worse than a minor cold why go to a Doctor or have a test?
It's a cold. I have been self medicating for the common cold all of my life, I don't go to a medical facility unless I have trouble breathing or it gets so bad or lasts so long I need to go.
Maybe that isn't the right thing to do but, I just cannot see why people are so worried about the Wuhan they get tested when they just feel bad.

My opinion is that the whole covid thing is overblown but I am not infallible in my opinions. I had a fever, slight cough and what seemed to be the beginnings of a cold so I tested myself and returned a positive result. I am not vaxxed (old and a smoker) and didn't see the need for me to be obstinate in not seeing a doc for what I considered a cold but could be something else.
I'm on my way to the HD now to be tested at the request of my primary care doctor. Since I tested positive, now I need to prove that I'm clean before she'll see me in office even though my symptoms started in the middle of June. It's nothing but a big PITA.
I just came from there. The HR/Health Officer at work requires a negitive Rapid Test before coming back to work. Fortunately they are not busy so I called for an appointment from the parking lot. Having my brain tickled via the nasal passage was quite the experience. Now I just wait for the results.

When I had mine done, they pushed too hard. I now have an involuntary twitch in my leg and Turrets syndrome.

Yep, not a soul in line, but the emeffers told me I had to have an appt. I called their number and it goes straight to VM. I was half way to Mechanicsville before they called back and left a msg. I called the number again, straight to VM. A little power sure goes to the heads of these tax payer funded position holders.
I'll bet if I wanted birth control or an abortion, they'd be falling over themselves to help me. On the bright side, I've got another pack of masks to use when I've got fiberglass work to do.
I saw that when I pulled into the parking lot. I called the number on the electric sign at the entrance which must be the general telephone line. They told me I needed to call the appointment scheduling number. I called, left a message, and then ran in to get some test kits. I was walking back to the parking lot when they called me back. I gave them all my info and they asked me how soon I could be in Leonardtown. Since I was already there I said a couple of minutes. I waited 10 minutes for an 11:30am appointment.
