" WASHINGTON -- Computer owners are being encouraged to run security tests on their machines within the next two weeks to ensure they have not been infected by two hacker networks that were seized this week by international law enforcement agencies.

The malware-driven network, called "Gameover Zeus," lifted banking credentials from up to 1 million infected Microsoft Windows computers, according to the United Kingdom's National Crime Agency. "

Ho Hum. It never ends, does it?

My older relative will not put her banking information or credit card numbers on a computer to buy anything or do banking, period. All this press about people's data being stolen just makes her feel more in secure in her decision to not take risks online.

It's getting pretty bad. Friend of mine caught a bad case of VD from a porn site he was surfing...it's just crazy. I had told him he needed to be more careful, but...

"Church Websites Are Three Times More Likely To Give You A Virus Than Porn Sites

If you get a virus on your computer, you’re faced with a difficult choice. Do you pretend that you’re stupid enough to click random links in your inbox? Or do you just own up to whomever that you’ve been visiting InsaneClownP****.info? Fortunately, the gullibility of webmasters on religious sites has given you a whole new excuse: It turns out religious sites are a hotbed of malware."

it is all about being a SMART Net User .... I have not had Anti-virus software installed in 2 yrs

I don't need it ... I do not use Internet Explorer, nor do I open attachments in emails from UPS / FedEx / USPS / DHL telling me where my [unrequested] package is.
I only download torrents that 200 other people and read the comments 1st if it is a release from an unknown group

and all of my email is web based, nothing downloaded to my computer - like the old days of Outlook Express and POP Mail
