how little are they

If these "little" black ants are just the normal nuisance type, they're easy to get rid of. Go to Home Depot or another place like that and get some pest spray that attaches to your garden hose. Spray the chemical all around the house up to about 10 feet from the house. Do this about once a month and it will not only take care of the ants, it will take care of other pests such as spiders, crickets, etc.

Now, if these ants are "carpenter" ants, that's a whole other situation. It depends on just how small they are, and if you happened to see any larger ones recently. I could describe the difference, but it would be easier for you to google it to see pictures.

Try the spray to prevent them from coming in. Once they're in, they've found a food source. Remove the food source and use some bug spray to get rid of what are left inside.

Ants, spiders, and other legged insects hate getting anything on the ends of their extremities. They ingest the chemical and die. The hope where ants are concerned is that they go back to the colony and die there and the others will eat the dead ant causing more to die from there.
