The right thinks their opinion is right, but you are entitled to your own opinion.
The left thinks their opinion is right - and you are entitled to THEIR opinion (or else, you're wrong - and they might make it a CRIME).
You know, I love the movie "The American President" even though the entire movie is about a very liberal Democrat President and every Republican is portrayed by spiteful little twerps. Otherwise, it's charming.
But there's a line in his big speech near the end I've always thought perfectly sums up the Left -
You cannot address crime prevention without getting rid of assault weapons and handguns. I consider them a threat to national security, and I will go door to door if I have to, but I'm gonna convince Americans that I'm right, and I'm gonna get the guns.
Yep. "I am so right, I got no problem utterly violating your Constitutionally protected rights and confiscate your legally acquired property - because I am right and you're wrong".
But this idea is so ingrained in them, they believe that if a Republican running for President thinks prayer in school is a good thing, well by God he's going to MAKE THEM DO IT, personal freedoms be damned. Because that's how THEY do it.
They have mostly stopped their "existential threat to democracy" stance ever since someone tried to KILL Trump, but the simple truth is, NOTHING can be more democratic than leaving abortion tetting the PEOPLE VOTE ON IT. And if every state makes it legal, then that's their CHOICE. The left wants none of that - if it's their opinion that it should be legal everywhere, then the people be damned, they're going to eff what the people WANT.
