Eye Doctor

I need your help/opinions. My daughter woke up this morning with a red swollen eye. She said that it hurts and can hardly see out of it. I'm looking for an eye doctor and found Dr. Laheri in the phone book. I want someone close--like in Leonardtown. Has anyone been to this doctor? Also I see a Dr. Tibold in Leonardtown. Anyone seen this doctor? Just trying to see which would be best to see.

Thanks all.

You might want to go to your pediatrician first.

I would just take my daughter her regular doctor first. But whatever you think is best. Hope they can see you.

How old is she? Sounds like pink eye.

Most cases of Conjunctivitis or Pink Eye are not medicated via RX, usually its easier to go to CVS ask the pharmacist to give you eye drops for pink eye. Make sure your daughter washes her hands very well throughout the day since the causes for it are mainly Bacterial.

Treatment depends on the cause of the pink eye. Was it viral? Bacterial? Result of injury? Is there a foreign object in the eye?

I use Dr. Clark (in the same shopping center at Wendy's and Arby's). He's been great for me. He also has in office in Waldorf.

Thanks all. Dr. Laheri is going out of town and wouldn't see her. Dr. Tibold office apparently was closed. I think hubby is just going to go ahead and take her to Express Care. I appreciate everyone's help.

Thanks

I would recommend that you go see an optometrist fisrt before you go to an othalmologist. The optom will look and see what it is. However, if it is something that needs to be referred then he/she will send you to the opthalmologist. Try Bayshore Eyecare, Target, Wal-mart(make sure you see the female doctor and NOT the male Doctor). Sounds like a pink eye but get it diagnosed by a professional.
