Fairgrounds on Monday

Hubby and I took Capt. Morgan to the fairgrounds on Monday to get her rabies vaccine updated. I was nervous, didn't really know how she would be around a lot of dogs. I must say, she surprised me...for a few minutes. There was a small yip yapper in a crate in front of us who just barked an barked at her. She simply ignored it. That was fine, then a gentleman came in with a boxer and got inline behind us. That was scary, she was growling and snarling...my husband was pulling on the leash and we had a choker on her. I kept standing in the line of vision between the two of them and she finally calmed down some. A volunteer came up to her, knelt down and started petting her and she was fine. She's never shown aggression towards people at all, but with bigger dogs she seems to have a problem. Wish I knew what happened to her when she was a puppy, I think a lot of her behavior towards dogs must have something to do with it.

My 15 pound Lhasa Apso loves all people, cats and small dogs. Try to introduce him to a big dog, even one he's met before, and he turns into a snarling snapping little Napoleon. Sheesh. Little man syndrome!

I had a Lhasa Apsofor 18 years. Best damn dog on the planet. I still miss her. Khmer God Dammit was her name. :bawl:

Ours is the best little dog and we adore him. His one flaw is what I described before! Napoleon syndrome! He is at work with me today, wooing everyone.
