Fake Rescue?

I adopted a female rat from SNR Bully Breed Rescue. We picked the rat up from the emergency vet in waldorf. While talking with the lady from the rescue, I learned that she had a female red double dapple dachshund that she rescued. She also had birds and spiney mice posted on petfinder for adoption. At the clinic(where she works), on the bulletin board there were flyers for the same rats, mice, and birds listed on petfinder, but for SALE. I told petfinder about it and I dont think they did anything. She said she rescued thse rats but then said she bred them together for hairless, rex, and dumbo babies. We wouldnt have taken the rat we did except that our rat really liked her and we were there.
Well now she has an add on here looking for a stud for that dapple dachshund. I totally regret adopting from them because she's just making money off of this... Its BS. I really wish there was something to do about this. Has anyone else dealt with them?

we just cant buy from a pet store when we know there are rats needing homes in shelters. Practice what you preach kind of thing:whistle:

WTF like why would I have a rat? Theyre great, seriously, ours would come to a whistle. We couldnt have a dog when we first moved, and theyre small and intelligent and great for keeping sqeaky girls away. Very clean too. Only problem is they die too young, 2-3max.

Is a RAT a dog?

I'm just curious.

Yes I think these folks should know who to keep a post on topic. I am ashamed of all of them. If I knew how to report this I would.

wow...yall are harsh, is it really so odd to have a rodent for a pet? I had mice growing up and it just seemed like a good idea to adopt one instead of buying one. seriously have none of you ever had a rodent for a pet?

So you adopted a rodent..a ratis ratis....and posted its story under DOGS?

Or you adopted a rat terrier type of dog?

A bit confusing...

And ratis ratis are cool..and very smart too...only turn off is that they leave pee trails to find their way home....
Easy to train and funny!!!

the hairless ones are kind of nasty looking, but thats terrible that she's still breeding them, she was very pregnant when I met her and she said she had over 20 rats at home plus snakes (duh) and birds, the dachshund that she said she rescued, and a mean chow. said she was trying to push the adoptions so she didnt have to deal with it with the baby...poor kid
