FANTASY CHALLLENGE: Aaron's 499 at Talladega

Well, no matter what happens now, this race will seriously shake up the fantasy challenge point standings.

Most everybody picked up a bonus this weekend after stealing my pick to win the race. This has become a three-horse race, 40 points seperate the top 3. Andy got a huge boost from Clint Bowyer and Denny Hamlin sneaking into the top 5 late.

After Phoenix:
  1. Harvick29 - 225 points
  2. AndyMarquisLIVE - 215 points
  3. OldHillcrestGuy - 185 points
  4. Baja28 - 145 points
  5. Clevalley - 135 points
  6. Gumbo - 135 points
  7. Toppick08 - 120 points
  8. Nachomama - 110 points
Apparently, clevalley didn't like the NachoZone. :lmao:

We'll be taking a week off here at the Fantasy Challenge - I'll be covering the ARCA Racing at Iowa Speedway next weekend, Saturday at 1:30pm EST on SPEED. The NASCAR Nationwide Series is on ESPN on Sunday from Mexico.

Make your picks carefully - these Restrictor Plate races are always wild and wacky (although Daytona's far more exciting than Talladega).

Good luck,
Andy

Bad move all around.

Now Montoya's team has to go through the hard work of breaking the language barrier, AGAIN, and working on communication. And do so mid-season.

Typical Gannassi move, not thought out.

That's what I was thinking...

Montoya: *in his native jibberish* :blahblah:

Jimmie Elledge: "Dowhut? Go get Donnie over here, I can't understand a dab blasted thing this fool is telling me!"

Didn't Elledge work with Ward Burton a few years back?

If so, understanding Montoya would be NO PROBLEM for him. :roflmao:

He might have. I thought he was with Rousch before going to Ganassi.
Crew chiefs go everywhere. Wherever the $$ is.

I can understand Montoya better, even in his native :blahblah:, than I can understand Ward Burton.

Although it would be funny if ESPN hired him (Ward) for play-by-play.

"Weeelll uh Jurry uh that orty 8 car oooo Juansen wooonnn't get uh into uh the uh the corner as well as Harrr...uh.....the twunty-nine car." (takes 30 laps to complete.

I remember hearing back in the day that Jack Rousch made Jeff Burton take speech therapy in order to keep his ride, and how they wished Bill Davis had done the same with Waaawwwwrrrrrrddddd.

I don't know.

Ward spoke pretty clearly when he told my brother that, "you need to buy a toothbrush and a new pair of pants there junior."

My brother understood every word he said. :roflmao:
