Fatal accident - Rt 234 and Thompson's Corner Road

inquiring mind would like to know

Approximately 5:30 p.m. this evening I was waiting at the light on Mattawoman Beantown Road and 301. Approaching Waldorf heading South, 15 police with and without K9's were racing down 301 from Brandywine. Does any one know what was going on in waldorf around that time. As I traveled 301 to the light at Berry Road I did not see any activity. I made a right turn onto Berry Rd again not seeing any activity in that direction.

We saw that too, hubby said it looked like a funeral but I did not see a hearse. I know there was a shooting. I believe it was in LaPlata. I will check and see if I can find the link.

From what I can figure, it was probably part of the K9 exhibition that was happening last night. It looks to me from the CCSO page that they hosted National Field Trials that wound up on the 3rd. USPCA 2013 National Field Trials - Charles County Sheriff's Office

All the K9 teams that came to Waldorf for the National Compettion which wrapped up on the 3rd of Oct. put on a show last at North Point High at 6pm.
Thats what you saw as you were coming into Waldorf last night.
The shooting was in Kings Grant from what I heard and had nothing to do with the K9 units on 301.
