Thanks, I think I will make my own. My Nan's Fasnacht (though I'd correct the spelling) recipe is very similar to the one that was posted.

None of the stores around here make them....they don't even know what they are.

When I lived in Pa, I wanted to find a corned ham...the guys in the meat dept. had no idea what I was talking about, so I had to explain what I meant.
Told me that I would have to go to a butcher, they didn't know either.

Wow corned ham. The first time I heard of that was a couple years ago when a co-worker was looking for it as well. She found it at 1 butcher in that area.

Funny the little things we miss when we move. I didn't think there would be a difference between Lancaster County and here. When we first moved here I kept asking for Seltzers sweet bologna at the deli and they kept trying to give me other kinds like I wouldn't know the difference. Finally, one day at McKays I asked again and tah dah, they had it. I think Giant has it too. They probbaly thought I was a nut because of how excited I got.

We miss a lot of things. Shoe fly pie, chicken pot pie, (not made in a pie made with dough squares) diners :), etc. It makes going home even more enjoyable though.
