Favorite exotic dessert

Back in the late 70s, fancy restaurants featured Crepe Suzettes. They were made tableside with flaming liquor to add to the show. Tastes changed and restaurants got more innovative. We got all sorts of things like Fried Ice Cream to Molten Lava Chocolate desserts.

I'd say 2 of my favorites would be Baklava or Tiramisu. I can't eat a lot of either. If I was going for a daily dessert I'd like a variety of Italian gelato. Locally Vaccarros has the closest to what is served across the pond.

I can't contribute to thoughts on fave exotic desserts because I don't eat sweets. But, give me a bag of Lay's chips any day! It is a good thing I don't like desserts, too.

I just remembered that back in the day growing up in NOLA, bananas foster was hugely popular. Done table side, flambé and all! Now, I did like that, a lot! Here is the origin and recipe.

Apple galette or Viennese pastries, definitely tiramisu, but my favorite is old fashioned carrot cake.

I'm not a huge fan of dessert. I'd just as soon finish my dinner if I still have tummy room. But one thing I do save room for, even if it's just a bite, is Bad Girl's carrot cake. Holy cow that stuff's amazing!

I would share that recipe with you, but then you'd just go and blab it to everyone on the planet, and then they'd go and tell their friends and, well.... then I wouldn't be special anymore with my amazing cake baking abilities.

I'll have you know that I can keep a recipe secret. I've never told about Kwilly's Mom's super secret spaghetti sauce recipe.

I wouldn't call baklava or tiramisu exotic; they're both pretty much traditional deserts. Not a huge desert eater - I'm happy with a scoop of good ice cream or some great homemade apple pie (with a slice of sharp cheddar to make it really special), and I love me some good rice pudding. Favorite desert, though not exotic, is definitely creme brulee. No matter how full I am, if it's on the menu, I'm getting it!
