What species of fish is your favorite to eat? How do you like it prepared?

Some of my favorites include, in no particular order:

Flounder
Salmon
Mahi-mahi
Swordfish
Cod

The white flesh fish I like baked or broiled with butter, fresh lemon juice, Chablis, fresh, chopped parsley, S&P, maybe a pinch of Old Bay or dill. The salmon is great smoked or just cooked quickly with a bit of seasoning. Good thing there are a brazillion way to cook fish.

I don't eat freshwater fish. I did keep a few yellow perch a few years ago that I caught in Lake Ontario. I don't get a warm, fuzzy feeling from freshwater lakes. The other day I caught a dozen or so fish from a pond and they all smelled like azz.

Monkfish broiled with butter and lemon (poor man's lobster). It is not inexpensive anymore, and I can't find it very often.

I'm partial to catfish. My uncle coats it in cornmeal and deep fries it and it is delicious.

I also love salmon and tuna on the grill.

I grew up on fried catfish and love it! I don't use a deep fryer, so I can't duplicate it. That is always the fish I get if I can when we go out to eat. We just don't go out often.

.

I had the mustard fried catfish special at Ruddy Duck (St. G's) last Friday night and it was MAG NI FI CENT! Makes me want to catch some perch, cut them up and put 'em on a hook to catch some catfish in front of the house here.

Grilled Dolly Varden

Dollies, now there's a fish name you don't here very often. Here's a few I fooled in Alaska a few years ago.

Flounder, fileted and baked with a small bit of lemon and butter.
Smoked tuna.
:yum:

I grew up on fresh-water Bass and survived many a summer on blue fish. I could live the rest of my life content never eating those again. :dead:

Trout (especially smoked), salmon, cod, perch, tuna. I ate a lot of salt water fish when we lived in hawaii - and I liked just about everything the guys caught when they went spearfishing. I just don't like real "fishy" fish.
Trout is probably my favorite.

Crappie. Cornmeal breading and lightly fried. Takes a lot of them to make a meal though. I also had a be chunk of grilled mahi-mahi when I was in Pensacola a few weeks ago that was amazing.

Rainbow Trout is my absolute favorite. I like salmon, catfish, and red drum. I also like sardines on saltines.

Yep, you don't hear about them around here hardly at all.

It's been a long while since I have caught any and it will be a while before I can get any more as my brother finally retired and left Alaska. I'm going to miss the caribou sausage too. :bawl:
