Holy crappola!

This dog is a sweetheart!!! What a HUGE mush. But I can't keep her. I don't have time for her and she's constantly whining. She misses her family. No way this dog was let go on purpose.

She has a BAD ear infection and I treated that tonight. It was OBVIOUSLY not the first time someone did this. Cuz as soon as she saw the bottle of doggy ear cleaner, she was OUTTA THERE!

But I got her, and she rolled over and let me clean out her ear with little resistance. I walked her on the leash and she was VERY good on the leash, no pulling, no struggling to run.

This dog is too well behaved for someone to not be missing her. I'd keep her, but I'd get attached quick.

I din't find her, someone I know here in the club called me for a favor. Her kids found this dog on the beach by my house. And they initially brought it home but one of her dogs took an EXTREME liking to this one. And she was afraid that the poor old guy was going to hurt himself.

I'll take the dog to the vet tomorrow first. And we'll go from there. This dog will find another owner FAST if the original owners aren't found. She fell asleep laying across my legs on the couch a little while ago. And now she's asleep at my feet as I type this. She follows me EVERYWHERE in the house. Tomorrow's shower should be VERY interesting.

I will give the shelter my info and if the original owner is not found or if it is found to be in need of medical attention other than the ear, I'll take care of it.

But I really don't have time for it. I'd love to keep her, but it wouldn't be in the dog's best interest right now.

As far as the phone ringing, nada. That phone hasn't rung in weeks.

And as far as my "pillow" going flat, well, I'm HOPING that shutterbug was talking about her DOG's pillow, and not mine.

I'll check back in here tomorrow. I'm going to sleep now.

What was Daisy? Chocolate lab or Black lab? Anyhow I think PT was sent this pup to keep. Sometimes the greatest gifts are unexpected.

Daisy was a black Lab/sneaky neighborhood dog mix.

This dog appears to be 100% Chocolate lab.

No way this dog was a gift, heaven sent or anything other than just a lost pup that needs his family back.

'nite all.

Good News!

Lucy's family has been found!

I took the little girl to the vet this morning, and they scanned her for a microchip. Although one was found, all numbers associated with it were disconnected or no longer were for her original owners. I guess they register the dogs name with the chip, and her name is "Lucy".

I just got in to work, and the vet's office called with the news that Lucy will be reunited with her family this afternoon.

It wont really be happy unless we all chip in and buy him a new pillow.

maybe even a pillow case with the picture of his favorite movie actress/actor (for political correctness) on it.

Good work PT. I guess she WAS sent to you for a reason. You cared enough to do the things necessary to reunite her with her family. Kudos.

I saw two small doggies this morning on my way to work. South of Gate 3 off Far Cry Road. One was all black, and the other black & rust. Both kinda looked like long-haired dachsunds.

They were just going to call animal control to come get her, and I told them that I would be willing to act as foster home for her till the owners could be found and asked the vet to look her over really good, take care of her ear infection, check out her hips and whatever else they felt necessary and was going to pay out of pocket it for it.

So basically I walked outta there feeling like the biggest sucker in the world.

The vet said that they would put in a "foundry port" at least that's what I heard her say, until she explained that it was a "FOUND report" that they wanted to enter with Tri-County.  The dog didn't let me sleep much. She kept getting cold last night and farting. So basically with every *poof*, she inched closer. So by the time I got to the vets offfice, I was REALLY tired, and REALLY overdue for a coffee but really happy to be breathing fresh air.

They were somehow able to get in touch with the dog's owners brother-in-law who then got in touch with...:blahblah:

I dunno. The microchip was registered to an address in Alexandria, VA, but like I said before, all numbers associated with it were old.

I dunno where Lucy's home is, I'm just glad that she's headed back there.

:yay:
