Field trip tattoo

Last night during dinner my girls were talking about a temporary tattoo that a classmate got during their field trip to Baltimore. The tattoo was the words Naughty Girl & red kiss lips. The girl that got the tat is only 10 years old and its on her lower back!:faint: I asked if one of her parents was a chaperone on the field trip - no they weren’t. Apparently she was with the father of another little girl that didn’t seem to think there was anything wrong with letting the little girl get the tattoo or the placement of it.

Where in Baltimore did the girls go? I find it hard to believe they'd hand out tats with "Naughty Girls" on it. :lmao:

Science & Tech Center for the morning then they were allowed to explore the Inner Harbor and have lunch. The girl got the tat while at the Inner Harbor.

Did the school advise all parents that was the plan for the day?

I would be fuming mad about the tat.

Yes, the school did advise parents of the plans for the day which is why my husband accompanied our girls. I would be mad about the tattoo also but I would be even more upset with the chaperone that ok’ed the girl getting the tattoo and letting her put it on her lower back.

I wouldn't be too worried about it. It's temporary. The chaperone thought it was ok for his child. Parents make different choices. She wasn't harmed, so I wouldn't let it bother you.

The appropriate answer to a request like that is, "You better clear this with your Mom or Dad first." Then a quick phone call is made. But people hate to tell their own kids "no", so they're almost certainly not going to say no to someone else's kid.

It's temporary, wash it off and move on

:yeahthat: If the parent(s) of this child are upset about it, they should be addressing it with the 10 year old who wanted the "Naughty Girl" tramp stamp to begin with... they've got more to worry about than a complacent chaperone...:eyebrow:

Exactly, that's what a reasonable and responsible chaperone/parent would do! You want to go on my kids next field trip? :lmao:

To the others - I realize it's temporary...Its the inappropriateness of the tattoo itself coupled with the placement of it and the irresponsible father/chaperone that condoned it.

Oh please. Like a 10 year old knew what any of that could imply  Big sis probably has a tramp stamp or something and this little girl thought that because she took too many cookies from the cookie jar that the "naughty girl" one fit her.

Next time, *you* should go on the field trip.

Don't you work full-time? It isn't quite that simple for some parents to get off to take a field trip with their kids when they are living paycheck to paycheck :yay:

I do work full time. I've also chaperoned a field trip this year. I understand it's hard for some people to take off, but I also understand that kids don't go on field trips very often.

My *husband* went with our girls on the field trip and neither one of them came home with a tramp stamp.

I misunderstood your post. I thought your daughter got the tat. I'm not sure I understand why you're worried about another child. Maybe you don't know the full story. Mabye the father knew the kids parents or something?

Either way, I don't think it's a big deal. Glad your husband went.

..good choice on that, mine would have been the same. Unfortunately the school can't interview the chaperones and you just never know what kind of person your kid will be with. Had this happened to me I would have to call the parent and ask him why he allowed it.

Do you know the parent of the girl? Perhaps they know one another and her parents didn't even care, you never know.

No, I don't know her parents but I don't think they're upset about it either. The next day the tattooed one was showing off her tat at school when the teacher sent her to the "office" where she was told that she was not allowed to show or display her tattoo while at school.
