 Oh good grief! Don't make up stupid stuff. My point is, if parents don't trust chaperones, then THEY should chaperone. :yay: You're getting all worked up and it wasn't even your child!

I'm not getting all worked up and I'm happy it wasn't my child. In case you missed it, I object to the content, connotation and placement of the tat on a 10 y/o child.

But it's not like he let the girl do something that would endanger her. It's a washable tat, and if her parents really didn't like it they could have washed it off lickity-split with soap and water.

But, obviously you don't find anything wrong with it.

I guess I just assumed
I didn't think anyone would have an issue with those little "sticker" tats that last 2 days  They can just be scrubbed really hard if you want it gone

Ha, I didn't even notice your typo SG, just :fixed: it :yay:

It wasn't a typo. It's okay. We don't love you any less, Johnny Duggar.

P.S. Even if it was a 2 day tat, it said "Naughty Girl" on it and was place on the small of her back.

I think I have more of a problem with where the tattoo was put rather than the fact she got one...not to mention it says "Naughty Girl". I mean, it was her lower back right? Isn't that area, still considered midriff I'd think, supposed to be covered up at school anyway? Not only did the father of this other child allow it, but the teachers apparently did as well. Yes, it washes off but it's just inappropriate.

The appropriate answer to a request like that is, "You better clear this with your Mom or Dad first." Then a quick phone call is made. But people hate to tell their own kids "no", so they're almost certainly not going to say no to someone else's kid.

Depends on the situation - this case would have been "not only hell know, but 'eff no!"

I would not really say that to the kid, but you get the point...

Was it YOUR child? If not then MYOB. Who cares if YOU object to the content of someone else's kid.

I would not let my 10 yr old daughter get a tat like that, but I also would hope I'd have taught her what's appropriate for kids her age, and that includes not getting skanky tats. :yay:

So its okay to let the child do whatever on your watch as long as it doesn’t endanger them? Well then they could have all watched a skin-flick on the portable dvd player while on the bus to and from Baltimore, no endangerment there.

That would be illegal so I would expect the chaperone to intervene. The henna tattoo is removable if the issue is forced by the parents so having absolutely no input from the chaperone as to what he was thinking, I can only assume he made a judgement call and didn't feel the need to intervene in this case. Again, my dissatisfaction would be taken up with the 10 year old, I wouldn't see where this would require me to question the school.

How about we blame the "tattoo" artist? What sort of crazy person puts a "naughty girl" tattoo on a 10 year old?

It may not have been her child but there is still reason for concern. A parent/chaperone allowed it to happen.

She said she objects to it. SO WHAT? Does it really matter what she objects to? It's not her kid and her and her husband go on field trips so she doesn't have to worry about it being her kid. Maybe the 10 year has had them before and that her parents wouldn't care.

My husband just went on a field trip and he bought all the kids in his group popcorn and sodas. I told him that probably wasn't the best thing to do since some children are not allowed to drink soda. Or they could have had an allergy.

Exactly! Let's say your 10 yr old comes home with said tattoo, all you have to do is have a discussion about why you think that's inappropriate for a child her age, regardless of whether or not the chaperone said it was ok.

If there is no age restriction for temporary henna tattoos then I put zero responsiblity on the vendor.

My kiddo got her first henna tattoo when she was 5 so I don't think their are any restrictions.

Right now she has a sticker/temp tat on her lower back.

Again, I must mention "midriff"...isn't it not allowed to be exposed during school and/or at school functions? Plus this GIRL is TEN YEARS OLD :jameo:

I'm not sure how old your daughter is but I bet the one she has now doesn't say "Naughty Girl" and she probably didn't get it at school...
