Fig Help!!!

Aw, it is just SO cute how you keep trying. :smoochy:

Let's see and just look at fruit trees: dwarf trees grow about 6 ~ 10 feet, semi-dwarf between 10 ~ 16 feet, and standard anything above that up to about 25 ~ 30 feet.

I guess my dwarf apricot, apple, peach, pear, plum, and cherry trees didn't know they were really bushes. No wonder they had a complex. :ohwell:

Probably a silly question but where do I get seeds for this or is it like brocolli and best to start with seedlings or something already started? :shrug:

Seedlings, nah!
Stop at Safeway and pick up what they call 'Fig Newtons'.
Actually September is the best time to plant 'em !
Just follow the directions on the box !

Most of the time figs are propagated from cuttings from another tree. You can also get already rooted side shoots that come up commonly in figs. You can grow them from seed but it takes a LONG time to get a fruit-producing plant that way. :smile:
