No, my eldest son's place in Butte, Montana. An elk. He didn't get one last year, so he is really happy. 600 lbs of meat in the freezer. And elk is yummy!

My buddy has some property out there that I get to visit time to time.....Yellowstone doesn't do it justice.

I was just asking my cousin a couple days ago if he had ever been to Montana to visit your son. He said he has and that I need to get out there to look around. It’s on my list.

I've seen elk in the wild in the Rockies outside of Estes Park CO. It was a herd of about 20 from roughly 100 yards away.

I don't think I would have been as frightened as I was but for the fact that our rental car was a Chevy Geo with a three cylinder engine.

Needless to say, we gave them lots of room!

We were cruising along in Yellowstone in our '79 Bronco with a small herd of bison slowly walking right alongside us on the shoulder. Could have reached out the window and petted one of the fluffy cows.....but didn't....
