Consider the source, Communist News Network; yeah, I know CNN doesn't really stand for that but it might as well.

The results were based on telephone interviews with 1,006 adults, ages 18 and older, conducted last Friday through Sunday.
...
The margin of error was plus or minus 5 percentage points.
I think the error in the poll is much larger than +/-5% since the sample is so small (only ~20 per state!). It also doesn't say where the people polled lived (i.e. nationwide).

Yet another just-show-the-numbers-nobody-will-question-it poll. :ohwell:

I don't think she's get the nomination much less the office. I just don't think the country has matured enough yet to vote a woman in. Another 50 years maybe.

I think they had a radio poll on 104.1 whether the listeners believe if a woman should be the President or not. Most listeners that I heard whether male or female apparently think that a woman couldn't lead a nation in war, that she could not be aggressive enough.

Women not tough enough to lead a major nation? How about Margaret Thatcher? When Argentina invaded the Falkland Islands she sent the RAF and a Naval Task force and retook the islands. Also it was the Soviets that gave her the nickname "The Iron Lady."

Well good news for those leaning to the left....helps me get out of the funk I'm in since Bolton is getting ready to be confirmed:

I have, on numerous occaision, made the argument that it is very possible she will win.

As horrific candidates like Al Gore and John Kerry came so close, how could it be any other way?

The good news for the nation and the world is, like the last Clinton administration, the GOP will improve it's position in both the House and Senate out of sheer national shock at what we've done, again, probably to Super Majority numbers.

So, I hope she enjoys herself and brings at least as many laughs as last time around!

Besides, I got a buck on her at least running.

I can't wait to spend that buck Larry. Maybe I'll buy a vintage Billy Beer can with it. :patriot:

As for those who think this poll is good news, remember how huge Howard Dean's numbers were at one point. Democrats may talk about how these ultra-libs are what they want, but when it comes time to flip the lever and commit, they go moderate.

More appropriate would be Clinton News Network!

As a very middle of the road dem, I am ashamed of where the democratic party is going. I worked for a moderate democratic Senator for 9 years on the "Hill." He opted to retire in the late 90's, largely because of where the party was going. If Clinton runs, I feel that it will serve only to further polarize the party as a whole. I just keep wondering why they can't find someone better (more appealing) to run then those we have had the last two elections. (Wish my old boss would run) The only good I see coming from her running is that maybe it will bring the Republican party back together. :patriot:

I just looked at the poll again in a USA Today article.
In the poll, 29% were "very likely" to vote for Clinton for president if she runs in 2008; 24% were "somewhat likely." Seven percent were "not very likely" and 39% were "not at all likely" to vote for her.
Something that occurred to me is this...29% were strong for and 39% were strong against. The other 24% and 7% are the swing voters. It still looks like Hillary has her work cut out for her since almost 40% are definitely against her. She has to get almost all of the swing voters and that's not very likely.

Well, you know at least two of them. I was an investigator for a Senate subcommittee on the Hill. You got the CMS job, there are a few more to include what I do now on Pax.

So your not as old as your pic(avatar)? Oh and what Senator did you work for! I'm a conservative Republican that would vote for a Dem, by the name of Zell Miller (D-GA). Read his first book and going to read his next one! :patriot:

Sen Miller is the successor to my former boss, Sen. Sam Nunn, whom I would like to see throw his hat in the ring, but too smart to. :patriot:
