$2.8 Billion to energize 400k homes.

Not very cost effective vs building a power plant that can power millions.

Okay GIlligan, where were you on this one?

Where was I?? That farm has been in planning longer than any other in US...so it's no surprise that it's the first one to (finally) gain full approval. At the Offshore Wind conference in 2018, Vineyard was predicting they'd be operating it by now..LOL.

And this moronic statement...sheesh..: "“A clean energy future is within our grasp in the United States,” Interior Secretary Deb Haaland said Tuesday. "

Build every wind project ever conceived and it still won't make up 10% of US power needs.

Meanwhile...in the rest of the world..the crew transfer vessels we help build are supporting over 10,000 offshore wind turbines. ;-)

One other amusing, or not, consideration is the vulnerability of sabotage of a resource off shore. Think it was easy for the GSR to sabotage a pipeline? This would be easier to reach.

That's the one positive aspect of the minimal contribution that offshore wind will make to the overall power grid. It goes down...nobody notices.

Or if any major power plants in the area go down and cause problems they can blame the wind-farm. WE DIDN'T KNOW WATER COULD FREEZE!

(btw, when I said where are you I meant where was your post, you seem to always be on top of posting the wind farm stuff).

Vineyard's operators already bought a shiny new crew transfer vessel and it's not "one of ours", so no $$ for us. So I hate them already...LOL.

That's my question too.
Wouldn't it be cheaper to build a Nuclear Power Plant ?
At least they work when the wind isn't blowing.

Maybe we could gat Space X to send the expended Nuclear source to the sun on a rocket.
