You do realize in the picture the tire is on a HMMWV???

An off road, AND road vehcile.. commonly referred to as a 4X4, not an ATV.

And you do realize that the article talks exclusively about the ATV industry, right?

Hows this then?

Late last year, though, Bridgestone thickened the plot by presenting an airless tire concept, which it says was the result of three years of research, at the Tokyo motor show.

We’re expecting that nonpneumatic tires are a decade away.

Read that too. A decade away, yep right up there like when many decades ago it was presummed that we would have flying cars by now. May I recommend that you hold your breath until these type tires are a reality.

The picture of the HMMWV should suggest that the military is already testing them on their over the road vehicles.. If they are that far along in the military testing, I'd think they are a lot closer than you think.

So that automatically means they will NEVER go on cars, or trucks, or SUVs??
Did I say that Bob? Don't think so. Thought I was talking about what the article said and nowhere was anything said about carrying the tire to the next level.

Yeah, ignore the article and look at the picture that wasn't part of the article.

What about your assumption that the tire should have some sort of sidewall that what was shown was a crossection or cutaway view, you sticking with that? :buddies:
