Since I was already rigged up for fly fishing, I thought I'd try my luck today at 1 of the ponds on base. I was going to head to Myrtle Grove but didn't want the long drive in case it was too windy.
I tossed a hare's ear nymph and was rewarded with 2 bluegills. I could have used those fish as ice packs since they were quite cold. Today was a bit windier than I like when I fly fish. I did end up with 1 wind knot in my leader.
Calvert Cliffs was stocked with trout today so that is where I'm heading tomorrow. Anyone wishing to hook into some trout locally should have some luck there for the next few days. It is forecasted to be a little colder than it was today. I can deal with the cold better than I can handle to high winds.
