FM Transmitter for iPod

I'm looking for guidance. I'm no audiophile or electronics guru.

My son (17yr) would like to play his iPod tunes in his car ('97 Honda Civic) that only has a CD player. I believe the easiest option is an FM transmitter. Looking at Apple.com the best choice (based on user reviews) appears to be the Kensington Digital FM Transmitter and Auto Charger for iPod (mfr part # K33199US). Best price I could find was from Amazon.com, delivered, for $57 (Apple.com sells, delivered, for $80.)

Other brands reviewed, on average, did not perform as well. I say on average because, even for this Kensington, a few said it didn't work very well. Most people reviewing gave it high marks and lived in large urban areas. I would think that less populated would only be better. I was wondering if anyone has had experience with this Kensington model in southern MD that they could share and/or recommend something different (model/brand/approach) to solve this issue. Thanx.

I have one thats made by monster. I bought it on ebay $30 i think. It works great. But there are a few area's as with any style FM that it gets a little static. But overall I am satisfied.

I have the DLO FM transmitter. You can find it in any of the X-marts or Best Buy. It comes with adapters so you can use it with any version, the old/new iPods or shuffles. No problems at all and it's a charger too.

Tell him to suck it up and play his CDs in the car, 'cause Mommy ain't fixing every thing for him. He can save his money and get a new head unit that will take a direct input from the headphone jack on an iPod or one that plays MP3s. He can burn 1 CD with about 600 songs
