Why me??
Hello all. I was on planning on making Chocolate fondue tomorrow night for my in-laws for their anniversary. I SWEAR I thought I had a fondue set-but turns out we don't. What else can I use??? TIA!

They've got some for something like $20 at Target. I guess you could use a double boiler though, I'm just not sure how'd you keep it melted after you remove it from the burner (use a glass bowl over simmering water to melt the chocolate...very slowly). Make sure to put a little vegetable oil in the chocolate, no matter what you use for the fondue pot itself. The oil will help prevent it from hardening and makes the chocolate silky.

No problem. You could always melt chocolate, dip whatever you want in it, set the stuff in the freezer and take it out when they come over. Mmm, chocolate covered strawberry's, pretzels, marshmallows, cookies...

:high5:
You could also add some white chocolate chips to the milk chocolate. That will help the hardening process better.

Crock pots work

Awesome idea
Now, I had a thought... We use those removable plastic liners for the crock pot, usually, because it's so much easier come clean up time...but if that was used for this, can you pretty much put any leftovers in the fridge (or not, I don't know what is best) and then reheat them multiple times (I'm mostly referring to chocolate, because cheese and other things obviously would'nt keep as long)? I'd make a big pot of it, if that would work, but if not then I'd probably keep it small unless there was company
