WTF Food lion has pulled their cold foods, deli, frozen foods... and put them in the big freezers in the back.
I was in there at 5 and they had cleared most of it out by then. I talked to two assistant managers and the said it was a call from "corporate". I told them I couldn't believe they would do this when people would be stopping on the way home from work to get food like cold cuts in case power went out. What kind of an organization would do this? Did the Exxon stop pumping gas? Did McDonalds stop making burgers...
I called their customer service line and let them know how disapointed I was in them. Like it helped right.
By the way, Mckays was doing a hell of a business.

I noticed that too. I'm surprised the milk was still out. The girls wanted a Lunchable but they were gone so they settled on Chicken Noodle soup.

I'm confused.... Please help me out here because I just posted in another thread that they were out of everything at Food Lion and now you are saying they moved stuff? How were customers supposed to know this?

There was no cheese out, ground beef, a few things of lunch meat but most of the deli section was bare.

Huntr just got back from there. He said they were getting ready to pull the milk. They'd already pulled the rest of the dairy section out.

Why do this during prime shopping time and prior to a storm? It might makes sense to do that in North Carolina right now but now Maryland.

You think they care about customers??? These were the people that were involved in selling bad meat years ago! I never "EVER" buy perishable food items from them unless it's from some other source and sealed.

According to my daughter they are preparing for the power to go out and moving all cold goods to the back freezers and walk ins.

I rarely buy red meat there - but I do pick-up packaged foods, milk, eggs and sometimes chicken there. The McKays in Charlotte Hall is 'okay' and nothing like the nice McKays in Leonardtown but you do pay more there, unless you stick to items on sale. What they really need in Charlotte Hall is a big chain grocery store other than Food Lion. I actually like Giant and although they are of the higher priced stores, they are always clean and organized, IMO.

I shop there alot. I also shop McKays, Shoppers and Giant. have had bad fish from McKays, molded cheese from Giant and I'm sure bad something from Shoppers.;I do shop at the others but mostly at the Food Lion:It comes down to the convenience of being able to stop on my way home and I don't like giving Tommy McKay my money...

I do a majority of my shopping at Giant for one basic, simple reason. I can use the "self" check-out line, pay for my stuff and be done with it. Shorter lines... that is until you run into a moron that doesn't have the slightest what they're doing. That luxury is worth what little more I might have to pay.

It's actually David Mckay your giving the money too. Tommy just came in the picture this past year on the advertisement side, when he failed to beat Stenny.

You would think a store that sold perishable foods would have a gererator backup system in place...
