WaWa in Mechanicsville pulled its frozen stuff.

UFB... They're acting like a category 5 Hurricane is coming... not the remnants of a tropical storm. I guess schools would be closed too if it wasn't the weekend. Bunch of corporate a-holes.....

You're a LOON :)
My friend said she went there today and that Giant and Food Lion were both putting stuff away today. Friend said Food Lion said they were closing at 5. Doesn't sound like that happened though.

I was in Charlotte Hall Food Lion around 5:00 to grab a few things, and noticed the empty sections of the store. They had a sign on the door that they were closing at 11:00 for the safety of their employees.

WTF Food lion has pulled their cold foods, deli, frozen foods... and put them in the big freezers in the back.
I was in there at 5 and they had cleared most of it out by then. I talked to two assistant managers and the said it was a call from "corporate". I told them I couldn't believe they would do this when people would be stopping on the way home from work to get food like cold cuts in case power went out. What kind of an organization would do this? Did the Exxon stop pumping gas? Did McDonalds stop making burgers...
I called their customer service line and let them know how disapointed I was in them. Like it helped right.
By the way, Mckays was doing a hell of a business.

Food Lion shoulda never promoted BuddyLee, this decision ranks right up there with Snyder hiring Zorn.

Isabelle was a tropical storm by the time it got to us and it cause all sorts of trouble around here. Lots of people lost power for several days.

I was in the check out line at McKays around 5:30 and overheard a cashier telling another cashier that Foodlion had put all perishables in the freezer and the other cashier said she wished they would do the same cause the lines were sooooo long

I was in there at the same time. :howdy:

Very true, but it was a lot bigger and passed to the West. Not a bad decision on the grocery stores part even though about 12 hours premature. People will be glad they did it if they have to go shopping Monday after losing all their food.

So, if people are expecting to lose power, why would they be upset that the frozen/cold foods are being put away? Do they really want to stock their freezer only to have the power go out? Can't people survive without milk for a day or so?

People are hoping the power goes out so they have a reason to eat 3 gallons of ice cream before it melts.

Give Foodlion a break!

LET ME BEGIN WITH I AM NOT A FOODLION EMPLOYEE
I think food lion did correct thing they left out the milk and non perishables, if the storm gets really bad atleast once all is clear there will be food why is it acceptable to protect our homes put lawn furniture in shed move cars and so on but a company can not protect its assets as well they left out the main staples milk bread water they took all frozen items away these are not storm products no electric no frozen pizza, the lunchables was sold out due to the quick eat, as for Mckays the can not rank with foodlion because when the power goes out all of there food will be trash, food lion is looking long term instead of the quick buck. ANd if your are angry it should not be towards the workers they do as they are told to keep their jobs just the same as you! Also why is it the last second of a potential storm people run to the store you should already have the things you need before hand because if not that is poor preparation for you family!

Unfortunately by starting of with 'I am not a...' makes people think you are.Just human nature if you had left that out it would not have crossed my mind you could be a member of staff.
I guess you have a nuclear bunker in your garden. It is good to be prepared but sometimes supplies do run out. Especially in this economy many people are living pay check to pay check.
The first thing I thought of is Insurance when food Lion took more protective measures than the other companies. I have not looked at their financial figures but I guess they are holding onto everything they can-no bad thing I guess. However it makes you wonder....
Hope I do not sound harsh but your post was a little. For example we needed water bottles and needed a store to buy them from...
