Calling people “retarded” is just plain juvenile. Did it ever occur to you that this boy might just be mentally disabled?

it is "correct terminology". I was asking if the boy was lacking in mental capacity, in which case, he would be considered "mentally retarded".

If someone is below a certain level in their mental development for their age, they are "mentally retarded".

for the record, I have nothing against mentally retarded people at all. They just don't need to be called "special" when in reality they are simply lacking in the mental development of the majority of the population.
