Calling people “retarded” is just plain juvenile. Did it ever occur to you that this boy might just be mentally disabled?

ummm...
no....

it is "correct terminology". I was asking if the boy was lacking in mental capacity, in which case, he would be considered "mentally retarded".

Definitions of retarded on the Web:

relatively slow in mental or emotional or physical development; "providing a secure and sometimes happy life for the retarded"
mentally retarded: people collectively who are mentally retarded; "he started a school for the retarded"
wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn

If someone is below a certain level in their mental development for their age, they are "mentally retarded".

Thanks for trying to keep it PC though :yay:, but I'll just use the terms I see fit thanks

for the record, I have nothing against mentally retarded people at all. :yay: They just don't need to be called "special" when in reality they are simply lacking in the mental development of the majority of the population.

I’m simply going to say, for the record, I have nothing against people that act in a juvenile way. I care about you just like I care about the mentally retarded. I wont call you special or treat you in a manner that separates you from the majority of the population. Fair is fair.

I just simply hate the word “retard” and intend to exploit the juvenile intent of that word every chance I get; like it or not. How that be? :yay:

It be absurd.

The word isn't juvenile, it is gramatically correct. :yay:

Speaking of correct terms...it says the baby was "born prematurely" not "miscarried" I believe that the difference between those two terms is whether or not the child took a breath.

I believe that regardless of what state you are in or what the abortion laws are or even what arguments are made by pro-life and pro-choice activists. I think the general consensus is if it breathes it's alive.
